Projects
Like the previous 11 Brush Up Buffalo events, Brush Up Buffalo 2008 will take place in the City of Buffalo with homeowners that meet our selection criteria (see below) and just need a little help.
Brush Up Buffalo traces back to 1996 when our organization was founded. Since then, Brush Up Buffalo volunteers have painted more than 220 Buffalo homes... and counting! Thousands of Western New Yorkers have joined together to lend Buffalo homeowners the help they need to improve the appearance of their homes and neighborhoods, renewing in the process their appreciation of Buffalo's culture and diversity.
Judge us by where we've been, what we've accomplished and our impact on the neighborhoods we've touched (all below), and then join us (volunteers are needed) and enable Brush Up Buffalo to reach more of Buffalo's neighborhoods and continue to be a positive force within the community and a helping hand to homeowners.
Selection Criteria
- Single story homes are preferred since they minimize the risk to volunteers
- Single-family, owner-occupied home, not in need of major repairs
- Homeowners are judged on the basis of their income level and interest in participating in the program
- Neighborhoods are judged on the availability of a cluster of suitable homes and homeowners
Where We've Been, What We've Accomplished...
"...nothing makes me happier than to participate in the improvement of our neighborhoods and to support those good citizens who assist this effort.
Brush Up Buffalo is a valuable program that truly reflects the spirit of cooperation we encourage in our City."
