What criteria drive the selection of the Buffalo neighborhoods that are selected as Brush Up Buffalo targets?
To qualify for consideration, a neighborhood must be within the City of Buffalo, and demonstrate a need for revitalization and beautification. Brush Up Buffalo only selects homes which are owner-occupied, single-family dwellings, and which are within the selected neighborhood for the year's project (i.e. help form a cluster of homes).
When will the Brush Up Buffalo 2008 neighborhood be announced?
Brush Up Buffalo will announce in April which neighborhood in the City of Buffalo will be the site of our 12th anniversary event, Brush Up Buffalo 2008.
Is there an income requirement for homeowners who are selected?
Yes, Brush Up Buffalo uses nationally recognized HUD income guidelines, and homes are selected based on need determined by income and household size.
Can one submit their home or nominate someone else's home as a candidate for Brush Up Buffalo? If so, how?

Is there a deadline by which I must express my interest in volunteering?
We will begin formalizing our painting teams in April 2008, enabling the painting team leaders to begin coordinating event details with their members. We organize a kick-off breakfast in the spring for painting team leaders and community leaders. However, we continue to take teams and individual volunteers right up to the end of May, when the final team leader meeting is held, and in which the houses are assigned to the teams. So, yes, if you can express your interest before April 2008 it will be appreciated, but if you can't we'll never turn anyone away who wishes to participate in Brush Up Buffalo 2008.
